Welcome to Power of Mind Pilates. My personal Pilates journey began when my chiropractor recommended it as a way of strengthening my "core" to manage back pain due to scoliosis. That was back in 2001 and I am so grateful. Pilates has changed everything I thought I knew about my body, my mind, and movement.
I became a certified teacher of the classical Joseph Pilates Method in 2013 after an immersive year long study. Today I instruct clients of all ages, gender, and ability on the many benefits of Pilates. Pilates is a combination of joyful movement, core exercise, and mindfulness. In 2013 I started Power of Mind Pilates Inc. in Victoria B.C. where I teach private equipment sessions and group classes.
Recreationally; I run, swim, hike, bike, ski, play pickleball, and enjoy any new physical challenge. I would not be able to do these activities were it not for the practice of Pilates. Pilates creates strength and flexibility, while focusing on precise skeletal alignment, muscular contractions, and breathing patterns. Quality of movement is more important than the number of repetitions performed or weight lifted.

Although I specialize in Classical Pilates, I challenge convention by going beyond the traditional sequences and infuse modern movement strategies in order to meet your specific goals.
It is important to me that you understand the movement principles and the Pilates fundamentals. These foundations will guide you through the work whether you are a novice or advanced practitioner. My philosophy is to work the body and mind that shows up on that day, and as such, each session should offer you something new. Physically, mentally, or both.
